RCCG distributes welfare package to missionaries

NO fewer than 150 missionaries of Ike, Gbegede, Laleyi, Kwoita, Dafa, and Yakoji mission fields in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja received welfare packages when Redeemed Christian Church of God organized one its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Greatness zonal headquarters, venue of the humanitarian gesture hosted hundreds of faithful including those who had earlier benefited from such act of charity in the past first time beneficiaries.

The benefiting detailed examinations as their mission works demanded.

Speaking during the programme, Gwagwalada zonal Pastor of RCCG, Gideon Dagunduro told the people that the gesture was part of the church’s way of sharing with those in the mission fields and supporting them in their work of propagating the gospel as initiated by the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

While thanking all the people that supported this year’s charity event, the cleric urged Christians to always remember missionaries that are far away in the fields and reach out to them this season.

Responding, some members of the community expressed appreciation.

Mr. Suleiman Garba, a Muslim converted by one of the missionaries, thanked the church for distributing the welfare package to those in the mission fields, stating that such humanitarian services were difficult to acquire in their inner cities.

He explained that some that could not afford the high cost of such welfare gifts have had to live in poverty and deprivation. He maintained that he was particularly impressed that there this was the first of its kind they had received this yuletide season.

To Sunday Bako, the joy of partaking in the show love to the less privileged is overwhelming. He expressed satisfaction at the way the programme was organized.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion include; Senator Dino Melaye; wife of Aso Villa Chaplain, Pastor Oby Malomo; Arc. L. T Malgwi; Air Commodore Ohalele; Pastor and Pastor Mrs. Nosa Ukponmwam; Pastor-in-charge of province- CSR, Pastor Sola Onakoya among others.
